Arabuko Sokoke Forest

Arabuko Sokoke Forest

Located near Gede, about 20 km south of Kilifi, Arabuko Sokoke Forest is the largest remaining coastal forest in East Africa. It’s home to rare wildlife such as the golden-rumped elephant shrew, Sokoke scops owl, and over 260 bird species. The forest offers guided walks, birdwatching, and nature trails through a peaceful, biodiverse environment. It’s managed by the Kenya Forest Service and Kenya Wildlife Service in partnership with local communities, making it a key conservation and ecotourism site on the Kenyan coast.
